Govinda Claims That He Was Offered James Cameron’s Avatar, Says He Suggested The Title

It is not just about Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone, but Hollywood has been smitten by Bollywood stars forever. There have been many Bollywood stars who have successfully worked in Hollywood and there are also some who have, at times, chose to remain faithful to Hindi films industry and even said no to some of the most historic projects.

One of those stars, as it turns out, is none other than Govinda. The actor has recently claimed that he was offered a part in James Cameron’s magnum-opus Avatar. Govinda said he turned down the offer because Cameron wanted him to shoot for 410 days and he was also not comfortable with putting on body paint for the role.

He also added, “I gave the title of the film. It turned out to be a super hit film. I had informed him that the film will do really well. I told him that I feel it will take seven years for him to complete the film. He got angry. When I said so, he asked, ‘How can you be so sure that I won’t be able to make Avatar for seven years?’ I told him that what he was imagining was something almost impossible.”

Apart from the Avatar, Govinda has also rejected films like Devdas, Taal, and Gadar which have also been some of the most successful and memorable films of its time.
