Akshay Kumar Is Possessed By A Transgender Ghost In His Next Film And We Can’t Even…Know All The Details Here

Yes, you read that right. For his next venture that would be based on the Tamil film Muni 2: Kanchana, Akshay Kumar is going to do something totally out of the box.

Directed by Raghava Lawrence, Muni 2: Kanchana is a did exceptionally well in the South Indian markets and now Kumar will be seen bringing it on screen for the Hindi audience. Emboldened by the success of Stree, this film is also going to experiment with the tricky genre of horror comedy and here a few details from the movie that will make you super excited.

Akshay Kumar’s Role

Believe it or not, in the film, Akshay’s character would be possessed by a transgender ghost named Lakshmi. Nope, we cannot even imagine what will this entail. But, we can surely guarantee Akshay in an avatar that we have never seen him in before.

Little Different from the Tamil Film

Despite being a remake, the plot of the film would be slightly different from the original film. In the Tamil film, the lead is possessed by three spirits whereas Akshay’s character in the film would only be possessed by the transgender ghost Lakshmi. Also, unlike the original film, the role of  Akshay’s wife would be much more significant and integral to the plot.

Kiara Advani

Talking about the significant role of the wife, Kiara Advani would be seen playing Akshay’s wife in the film. Kiara is already working with Akshay for Good News and this would be their second venture together.

Original Director

The film would be adapted in Hindi by Raghava Lawrence who also directed the original films. Lawrence is a superhit director down south and has 2012 Prabhas starrer blockbuster film Rebel to his credit.

Casting Coup

Before Akshay Kumar was confirmed for the project, many big names were doing to rounds. Lawrence initially wanted to make the film with Shah Rukh and even Salman Khan was considered for playing the lead. Reports also said that Sanjay Dutt was being considered for an important, although nothing on those lines have been confirmed yet.
