The Kesari star also spoke of Sushant’s death and said, “After the sudden death of Sushant Singh Rajput, many issues have cropped up that have pained us as much as they have hurt you. These issues have forced us to introspect about many problems that plague the film industry which were critical to pay attention to. Narcotics and drugs are being spoken about, how do I lie to you with a hand on my heart and claim that this issue doesn’t exist [in the industry]. It does exist, just like it might prevail in any other industry or profession. But it is not possible that every person of that profession is involved in that problem.”
The actor added to his argument by saying, “Drugs are a legal problem and I have full faith in the law enforcement authorities that whatever investigation they have called for in the matter will be completely valid. I also have faith that every person from the film industry will cooperate with them in the matter but I plead with folded hands and ask you to not defame the entire industry for it.”
The NCB, that was called into probe the drug angle of the Sushant Singh Rajput case, have found several leads so far linking big names in Bollywood to drugs some of whom have already been summoned and questioned by them.
