Aamir Khan Plans To Shoot Laal Singh Chaddha In Turkey
Updated : August 06, 2020 10:35 AM ISTThe COVID-19 pandemic has made the filmmakers revisit and revise their pending projects and as a majority shoots remain suspended even four months after the lockdown was announced. Akshay Kumar’s Bell Bottom will soon be the first film that will begin rolling overseas in Scotland, while many producers eye studio setups in Mumbai.
Bell Bottom’s approach has made producers think of shooting overseas in countries impacted considerably less by the pandemic and might lead to Aamir Khan recreating Punjab in Turkey and Georgia for Laal Singh Chaddha while Deepika Padukone’s film with Shkun Batra might be headed to Sri Lanka.
Laal Singh Chadha’s shoot was halted before the cast could begin shooting a ten day schedule in Delhi. Now according to a source quoted by Mid-Day, "Aamir is planning to recreate Punjab in Turkey and Georgia as the former has brought the crisis relatively under control. The team is in the process of locking locations via virtual recce and will head there when the travel restrictions ease. The pending Ladakh schedule will possibly be shot in Kargil before that."
In the same way filmmaker, Shakun Batra is said to be scouting Sri Lanka as a possible location to begin shooting for his next starring Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Pandey. The Mid-Day source says, "On August 1, Sri Lanka opened the airports for tourists again. Shakun is hopeful that India will resume flights to the country by November." The filmmaker is said to be picking 50 crew members for the schedule in Sri Lanka.

Among other projects, after two hits seasons Tarnishta Chatterjee might shoot portions of the third season of web series Four More Shots please in Italy. She is already keeping a tab on the pandemic situation in the country even though the dates for shoot are not fixed yet.
