While he was recently in news for coming out in complete support of Indian soldiers martyred at the border, he has also helped the Maharashtra state government in issues such as water scarcity and drought. According to reports, Akshay has volunteered to adapt a village in Maharashtra that has been hit by farmers suicides. The Actor who would next be seen in Jolly LLB 2 has apparently made an extensive research by meeting experts including state’s CM and has offered to adapt the whole village. While the Vidarbha region of the state is worst affected, the village Akshay has adapted is in the Yamatmal district that is reported to be a in a poor shape post farmers suicides.

The actor has also made similar gestures in the past by coming out with aid for farmers in the state along with actors like Nana Patekar. While we all know his patriotic side both on and off the screen, the philanthropist actor is making sure to do his bit otherwise as well.
