4 Upcoming Sonam Kapoor Films That Will Further Display Her Acting Potential

In 2016, Sonam Kapoor did something that nobody expected her to do. She acted really well. So well, in fact, that her performance was among the best performances of the year and made her win a National Award mention too. As an actor, while she always has had that charisma, but it didn't quite translate to a stand-out performance like it did in Neerja.

Such was our surprise that we are now actively looking forward to what she is going to do as an actor. Though people might still have some apprehensions, we hope that she will continue to surprise us.

Here are her upcoming acting projects:

Veere Di Wedding

Produced by Rhea Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor is all set to star in Veere Di Wedding. The romantic comedy will be directed by Khoobsurat filmmaker Shashanka Ghosh. A chick flick about 4 best friends also stars Kareena Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania.

The movie is scheduled for a 2018 release.

Padman

After 2011's Thank You, Sonam Kapoor will share the screen space with Akshay Kumar again after a gap of 5 years in R. Balki's, Padman. It's a biopic on Arunachalam  Muruganantham who handmade the first low-cost sanitary napkins in the country. He also innovated grass-roots mechanisms for generating awareness about traditional unhygienic practices around menstruation in rural India.

The movie is scheduled to release on 18th April 2018.

Sanjay Dutt Biopic

Sanjay Dutt's much-talked about upcoming biopic (starring Ranbir Kapoor in the titular role) will also have Sonam Kapoor in a pivotal role. According to reports, the actress will have a special role in the film. It is said that her role is an amalgamation of all the actresses that Dutt dated during the 1980s and 1990s.

The film will release on 30th March, 2018.

The Zoya Factor

Reportedly, Sonam has been signed on for the movie adaptation of Anuja Chauhan’s The Zoya Factor. Initially, Shah Rukh Khan had taken the rights of the adaptation but had to let go off it.

It has been learnt that the film will now be produced by Sonam’s sister Rhea Kapoor and Shashanka Ghosh of Khoobsurat fame might helm it.

The Zoya Factor is a story about an advertising professional who turns out to be a lucky mascot for the Indian cricket team. She eventually falls for the captain of the team and motivates him to win the World Cup.
