Here's Why Rishi Kapoor Lost His Cool After Vinod Khanna's Funeral
Updated : April 28, 2017 11:12 AM ISTAs the Indian film industry mourned the death of veteran Bollywood actor Vinod Khanna on Thursday, his Amar Akbar Anthony co-star Rishi Kapoor was extremely angry to see that none of the “young actors” was present at the funeral in Mumbai.
Actors Amitabh Bachchan, Randeep Hooda, Abhishek Bachchan, Dia Mirza, Rishi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Danny Denzongpa, Arjun Rampal, Ranjit, lyricist Gulzar and filmmaker Subhash Ghai were present at the funeral.
In a series of furious tweets, Rishi wrote, “Shameful. Not ONE actor of this generation attended Vinod Khanna’s funeral. And that too he has worked with them. Must learn to respect. Why this? Including mine and thereafter.When I die, I must be prepared.None will shoulder me. Very very angry with today’s so called stars.”
Rishi also explained why his son Ranbir Kapoor was not present at the funeral.”Yes it has been expressed earlier on social media my wife and Ranbir are out of the country. Would never had been reason not to be there,” he tweeted.
The D Day star also expressed his anger at the young actors for attending an event by Priyanka Chopra as they skipped the funeral. “Angry. Met so many chamcha people last night at Priyanka Chopra’s do last night. Few at Vinod’s. So fuckn transparent. So angry with them,” he wrote.
Khanna was hospitalised over a month ago for cancer but the family then remained tight-lipped about his condition. In a brief statement, the hospital said Khanna breathed his last at 11.20 am due to advanced bladder carcinoma.
