Here's All What Has Been Cut Or Replaced In Jolly LLB 2 By The Censor Board!

Akshay Kumar’s Jolly LLB 2 can do with a bit of positive publicity before it is released on February 10. After reports that the Central Board of Film Certification has asked the filmmakers to delete a few scenes that “defame” the judiciary from the film, we now hear that the censor board has asked for several more deletions. The cuts are reportedly related to references to the city of Lucknow, where the film is set. Directed by Subhash Kapoor, the film also stars Huma Qureshi, Saurabh Shukla and Annu Kapoor.

According to a report in Bollywoodhungama report, all dialogues taking digs at Lucknow have been asked to be removed. Lucknow has been replaced by the word ‘local’ in the following lines - “Lucknow kachahari mein koi cheez time pe hui hai kya?”, “Baahar Lucknow ke lawyer mujhe kya bulaate hain”, the report added.

The report also suggests that Lucknow has been replaced with ‘Awadh’ in the dialogue, “Yeh Delhi nahin Lucknow hai.”

Also, the word Lucknow has been muted in the Holi song from the film, Go Pagal.

In an order issued on Monday, the Bombay high court observed that a few scenes in the film “defame” the judiciary and accordingly ordered that four such scenes from the movie be “cut.” Following HC order, director Subhash Kapoor, gave a statement to the court that he will remove/modify these scenes and dialogues.

One of the scenes the board wants deleted shows a lawyer jumping over the judge’s dais, and the latter, ducking the lawyer, is shown pronouncing his verdict while crouching down. Another scene shows the lawyer having a conversation with the judge, and then signals to his client, who then hurls a shoe at the judge.

According to Kapoor’s undertaking, “the jumping on and off the dais” will be removed though the “dialogue between the judge and the protagonist will be retained”. Also, the scene with the shoe hurling will have to be modified. Now, “the modified scene will still show the litigant venting his frustration. However, the shoe will not be thrown directly at the judge, or land on the judge’s table.”

Jolly LLB 2 is set to hit theatres on February 10.
