Malang Day 1 Box-Office: Aditya Roy Kapur-Disha Patani Starrer Opens At 6.71 Crores INR, Becomes Aditya’s Highest Solo Opener!
Malang Collects 6.71 Crores INR On Day 1
Updated : February 08, 2020 01:11 PM ISTThe box office collection of Mohit Suri’s latest outing, Malang, starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Disha Patani is here and lo and behold, the film has managed to become Aditya Roy Kapur’s highest solo opener ever.
Malang has opened to 6.71 crores INR at the box-office, beating Aashiqui 2 which had collected 6.25 crores INR on its opening day (this is considering only his solo releases). But this should have been a little higher up, and given Aashiqui 2 had released 7 years back in 2013, the nett would be low. While the film is going well in the multiplexes, the mass circuits are low, given the genre of the film and Mohit Suri’s appeal. The film would definitely see a growth on Day 2, though the numbers might remain low in Delhi owing to the elections.

Mass circuits low... Needs to show more than normal jump on Day 2, though biz in #Delhi will be limited... Fri ₹ 6.71 cr. #India biz.

The film is definitely gotten a better opening than Aditya Roy Kapur’s last few solo films like Fitoor and OK Jaanu. Check out the opening day releases of all Aditya Roy Kapur’s solo films:

2013: #Aashiqui2 ₹ 6.25 cr
2014: #DaawatEIshq ₹ 3.72 cr
2016: #Fitoor ₹ 3.61 cr
2017: #OkJaanu ₹ 4.08 cr
2020: #Malang ₹ 6.71 cr
Note: Solo hero films only. Hence, #YJHD and #Kalank not included.#India biz.
The film has received average reviews from almost all critics and given the Mohit Suri charm and Aditya-Disha’s chemistry, the film will only go upwards on the weekend. What do you think would be Malang’s first weekend collection? Let us know in the comments.
