Why Captain America: Civil War Is So Much Better Than Batman Vs Superman
Updated : May 10, 2016 05:44 PM ISTOkay, so now we know. Deep down, we kind of always knew this would happen. For a while there, we abandoned our logic and hoped (prayed) that Batman vs Superman would be the movie that would bring back DC universe and end Marvel’s dominance in superhero movies business.
Even if we didn’t care about that, what we really wanted was legendary characters like Batman and Superman to be shown in a way that could get us truly excited!
And then March 29th came and we bought our tickets for Batman vs Superman and rest, well, is history… recent, painful history.
But not everything is so horrible. We did get to see one good movie. Even though we had to wait till last Friday for that, when Captain America: Civil War released and showed exactly how a superhero movie is made.
There is a proper setup…
Yes, the movie also used a lot of large-scale destruction but it didn't stop there. There are reasonable repercussions and decisions need to be made.
There is well-defined conflict...
"Sometimes I wanna punch you in your perfect teeth."
Not all action should seem mindless...
Okay, this is pretty mindless too when you think about it. But it is hard to argue how awesome it is.
There are a lot of Superhero vs Superhero fighting...
A lot...
Stakes are high...
While it didn't have Batman vs Superman's end-of-the-world and Gods narrative, there was a no lack of stakes in this Marvel movie.
And then there's this guy...
And him..
The feels...
Marvel movies have a bad repuatation for being too light and breezy. While it still had a lot of well-timed jokes, the most amazing moments of the movie were where things get emotional.
Live and learn, DC!
