Wait, what? Is That Anurag Kashyap Next To Sonakshi Sinha in Poster of Akira?

The second poster of Akira released today and it features a fierce Sonakshi Sinha with the tag line that reads, "No one will be forgiven." 

While the poster is really impressive, the one thing that will genuinely surprise you is that Anurag Kashyap is on it, right next to the Lootera actress. The action-thriller, which is due to release on September 2, will be directed by A.R. Murugadoss, who has previously directed Ghajini and Holiday.

But we still can't get over Anurag Kashyap's presence!

The critically acclaimed filmmaker, who is linked to the recent releases Udta Punjab and Raman Raghav 2.0, can be seen in a bad-ass avatar.

While the director is known to make films about violence and underworld, it’s the first time he himself has become that as he will reportedly play the antagonist in the film.

But, contrary to what you might think, it is not the first time he has acted.

He regularly makes cameos in his own films.

Anurag Kashyap can often be seen in his own films. He has made cameo appearances in Black Friday, No Smokiing, Dev.D and Gulaal.

Not only in his own films, he appears in others’ projects as well.

He has also surprised us by appearing in films such as Luck By Chance, Bhootnath Returns and Tera Kya Hoga Johnny.

He also has been in an international project.

He has also made a cameo appearance as himself in Frieda Pinto's Trishna.

He appeared in Shah Rukh Khan’s Happy New Year.

He had a humorous appearance in Farah Khan directed Happy New Year as a dance judge, along with Vishal Dadlani and Maliaka Arora Khan.

Akira is not his first full-fledged debut; it’s Shagird.

Akira is not only Anurag Kashyap's first acting job, it's not even his first poster. He played an integral role in the film and even won some acclaim.

He fully intends to keep on acting.

Next up, he will star opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui (who he usually directs) in Ghoomketu. Produced by his Phantom films, the film would also be his first comedy role as he takes up the role of a lazy cop.
