Trailer Breakdown: Rustom Promises To Be An Absorbing Ride

The trailer for Akshay Kumar's Rustom finally released today–and it looks promising.

Akshay Kumar, who has already delivered two superhits in the form of Airlift and Housefull 3, reunites with Neeraj Pandey for Rustom. Neeraj Pandey, who directed actor's Baby and Special 26, is only a producer for this film but that doesn't seem to have affected the outcome.

Here are the major takeaways from the trailer:

Akshay Kumar is a patriotic naval officer Rustom Pavri.

Not only professionally, but his marital life is also a bliss.

Look, he also brings his wife flowers.

But one day, he discovers some letters written to his wife by some V.

So apparently he follows his wife and yes, his worst fears are realised. 

So, clearly upset, he shoots that homewrecker.

So obviously, he deserves to stand in front of the court and, being the honourable man he is, plead guilty.

"I plead Not Guilty." Wait, what?!

But she thinks he is a criminal.

So does he.

Then, some news-story declares him a hero.

And he suddenly has a fan-following.

Now this influential person supports him.

And the maid who works at his house defends him.

Then there is this shifty guy whose intentions are just as dubious as him.

So is he a criminal?

Or is he a patriot?

It's all an elaborate game of chess.
