Shah Rukh & Hrithik Are Playing For The Bronze, Here’s How!
Updated : August 19, 2016 02:27 PM ISTBox office clashes have become a weird practice of settling scores in the current times. While producers, directors and actors are going lengths to make sure their films experience a solo release, the clashes are happening at the precede of pride and egos. Last year on Christmas when Shah Rukh Khan’s Dilwale clashed with Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani, the clash was touted as one of the biggest.
Whatever happened was in the light of the day and Shah Rukh had to go through one of the worst defeats of his career. Eight months later, another high profile clash was on the cards in the looks of Akshay Kumar’s Rustom taking on Hrithik’s Mohenjo Daro. Making another unforeseeable upset, it was Hrithik’s turn this time to see the dark side of the moon. With Mohenjo Daro falling flat on its face, he now knows the risks involved in stepping in the ring of a box office clash.
Here’s what the funny side of the story is: With both SRK and Hrithik having lost their share of battles, the next huge scheduled clash is between the two very stars. Shah Rukh’s Raees and Hrithik’s Kaabil are set to lock horns with each other on Republic Day next year. The question going around the minds of people right now is, will the clash really happen? Well, if sources are to go by, the box office clash is pretty much on and that implies that both Shah Rukh and Hrithik will play for the bronze.
Both stars are coming through a tide of defeat and backing out only looks like a distant possibility. If at all the two films take on each other, the fight would be to reestablish the fading star power and reinstate the trust they have lost lately. The makers of Raees have already moved their release date enough and are unlikely to make another one. On the other hand, Rakesh Roshan has been pretty firm on his stand sticking to the Republic Day slot for Kaabil. Therefore, we already have a clash to look forward to in months ahead.
In the season of Olympics where both these superstars have lost their respective semifinals, may be the battle is to win the game on Republic Day and ensure a bronze at least. Backing out would appear to be a walk over now!
