A Sanjay Dutt biopic made by the director makes perfect sense, for numerous reasons. Rajkumar Hirani clearly knows a lot about the actor, having worked with him in the Munnabhai series; biopics are in trend; Sanjay Dutt's controversial life will make for a great subject.
Having seen the teaser as well as poster of the film, we're truly brimming with excitement over the full trailer as well as the film itself. What has really got us going is that the talent that has been assembled on screen. And not only that, these castings are not only focused on the biggest names but they have been made with the kind of far-sightedness that can truly help this movie become a memorable one.
Here are all the actors that have been cast as various characters in Sanjay Dutt's life.
First, of course, Ranbir Kapoor is essaying the role of Sanjay Dutt. It is said that the role will especially focus on the actor in his early days.
Paresh Rawal will play the role of actor, politician and Sanjay Dutt's father Sunil Dutt.
Manisha Koirala will play the role of actress Nargis, Sanjay Dutt's mother. The actress died in 1981, shortly before Sanjay Dutt's first film Rocky released.
Dia Mirza will play the role of Maanyata Dutt, Sanjay Dutt's current wife.
Anushka Sharma will do a cameo in the movie. It is reported that the actress will play a role of a biographer who chronicles Sanjay's life in the film.
Sonam Kapoor will be playing the role of one of Sanjay Dutt’s love interests.
Vicky Kaushal has been confirmed to play the role of Sanjay Dutt's best friend in the film. According to actor, "I can't say much, but the character is primarily based on his close friend who lives in the US. That friend has been with him [Dutt] through thick and thin."
Padmaavat actor Jim Sarbh has also joined the project but the details of his role are unknown.
Dutt is slated to release on 29th June 2018
