Lost Love Stories : Hrithik Roshan And Sussanne Khan

He has enchanting hazel eyes, killer dance moves, and a blockbuster debut movie which made him an overnight star. She had the power to help him through his journey to fame. She perhaps was a star maker.

He would bike around her house as a kid in the same vicinity and do stunts at the age of 12. She would notice him and felt that he was cute. His friends sang a song in her name for him teasing him that he liked her too.

But then, they both went their ways. Hrithik Roshan, the only son of filmmaker Rakesh Roshan, was 9 when he used to sleep on the floor on a mattress in a very small accommodation with his parents who were recovering from a monetary loss. Sussanne Khan’s life was more privileged in a sense that she was financially secure, and perhaps hadn’t seen life the way Hrithik had. Not to forget that the little Sussanne had seen her worst nightmare when her father Sanjay Khan, the famous Tipu Sultan of Television burnt himself on the sets.

Love at Traffic Signal
As fate had it, in the filmiest possible way, when Sussanne returned from the US after studying interior designing, Hrithik and she saw each other at a traffic signal. Their eyes met and then the next second they both pretended to ignore each other while their cars were running parallel on the same road.

Both reached home and called up good friend Kunal Kapoor to tell what happened. Kunal called up Duggu to ask what the matter is and it was funny how both confided in the same person.

Hrithik fondly remembered how his buddy Uday Chopra asked him how she looked and he said she’s an angel. Later he easily recognized Sussanne at the Disco and loved his friend’s choice.

Sussanne had known Hrithik Roshan the person, who wasn’t a star. She gave him strength, self-confidence and even paid the bill on their first date back then on 13th January while Hrithik wasn’t earning. He was bloody impressed by that gesture.

Wedding wows
“Anybody who says that nobody’s perfect, didn’t get a chance to meet my wife Sussanne,” Hrithik told Simi Garewal when Hrithik and Sussanne were expecting their first child. Sussanne made her first appearance on TV with a cute baby bump in a sizzling black gown with diamonds glittering around her neck, and the blush on her cheeks of being an expecting mother was adorable. She spoke her heart out and the duo confessed that they had never seen their wedding videos ever.

Hrithik held the mic spoke like he was Edward from Twilight taking his wedding wows with his Bella. The sweetest thing though is her response where she said that she wanted to reiterate everything he said and that she will love him forever.

He loved waking up in the same room next to her. They would never leave the bed without hugging and kissing in the morning. He would never leave the house without hugging her. And, if people were around them, they would find a quiet room and made sure he never left without a bear hug from his wife. They were a week away from their 13th wedding anniversary, parents of two adorable looking boys, Hrehaan and Hredaan, and the news broke the internet. Hrithik and Sussanne were splitting. The dream couple which every fan girl wowed to for being the perfect match for each other, had just turned not so perfect for each other.

There are several reasons which floated that time. Hrithik’s closeness to his female co-stars, especially Barbara Mori in Kites, then Kangana’s involvement with him were being touted as the potential reasons for the break up. The duo and their family maintained dignified silence over the issue and later released statements to confirm this. They requested privacy and wanted the best for their children.

Sussanne’s father Sanjay Khan said, “Like any other normal couple they also have some issues. Just because Hrithik is a superstar, doesn't mean he will not have personal issues. They both are intelligent and wonderful people. It's just that they need space. Of course this is not a closure. They respect each other. To resolve issues, may be this is what they thought was good.” While Rakesh Roshan had this to say, “My wife and I want Hrithik to be happy and at peace with himself, no matter what. The split
November 1, 2014 was the day when the two officially separated from each other and Sussanne got the custody of the kids. While we often see the dad holidaying around with his two little men, the mother has been constantly around with them.
Hrithik fell into a controversy with Kangana’s fearless interviews over their alleged relationship and exchange of mails. Everything was out in the open and it was difficult to conclude what went wrong.

Sussanne was linked to their common friend Arjun Rampal, divorce rumours of whom are also abuzz. He clarified in a statement back then, “Mehr and I wish them only peace and love through these times, and support them as friends should and we wish them and their families well, always. It is very sad when friends close to you take a decision to separate. These are the hardest times for them and we must be sensitive towards this decision, rather than creating speculation and rumours.”

The grapevine weaved hundreds of stories and clauses about their break up, linked them to different permutations and combinations of people, but Hrithik and Sussanne have always maintained dignified silence over their private matters. As far as their marital life was concerned, they grew together as a very young couple. The highs and lows of their married life were never hidden from public, whether it’s Hrithik’s closeness to Kareena during Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon, or Sussanne living separately to grow her interior designing business.

She broke millions of hearts when fangirls came to know that Hrithik had married Sussanne. She took pride in the fact that girls were mad about her husband who belonged to her. He made a fortune with her and gave some smoldering hits at the box office. The two would always seal it with a kiss whenever he went up the stage to collect a best actor trophy.
