2016 has been a good year for Kalki Koechlin, who won the Jury Special National Award for her performance as a teenage girl suffering from cerebral palsy in Margarita With A Straw. To this, she will now be anchoring a travel show along with her father Joel Koechlin for Fox Traveller.

1. Dev D
Making her Bollywood debut with Anurag Kashyap’s film Dev D, Kalki is seen playing the role of a victim of an MMS scandal. Later, she turns to prostituting for high-paying clients to pay for her education after being disowned by her family. The movie gained a lot of attention from the audience for her powerful performance and has also won the Best Supporting Actress Filmfare Award.

2. That Girl In Yellow Boots
The film deals with issues like child abuse, prostitution and alienation where Kalki sets out on a quest to find her father. She channeled all her anger into giving a memorable performance to the audience. She even co-wrote the movie along with her former husband, Anurag Kashyap.

This Zoya Akhtar's directorial was Kalki's first entry into the commercial movie. She played the role of Natasha, a possessive fiance which was quite refreshing to see for the audience.
