Here's Why Mohenjo Daro Reminds Us of Hrithik Roshan's Worst Phase as an Actor
Updated : July 08, 2016 04:27 PM ISTWe're scared for Hrithik.
To be honest, Mohenjo Daro teasers has us worried.
Yes, Ashutosh Gowariker is directing the film. The same Ashutosh Gowariker who has previously directed brilliiant films like Lagaan, Swades and Jodhaa Akbar. But going by the unintentionally funny nature of the previews, we are also reminded that he also made entirely forgettable ones like What's Your Rashee? and Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se.
What we find even more distressing that Hrithik Roshan, who hasn't made a downright poor movie for years, might be falling into an old trap.
What old trap you might ask?
Well after his memorable debut in Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, the actor made several forgettable films. Let's recall:
Yaadein (2000)
This Subhash Ghai film starred Hrithik Roshan with Kareena Kapoor in the leading roles. Full of cliches and melodrama, the film was one of the biggest flops for the filmmaker and received bad reviews.
Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage (2002)
After Kaho Naa...Pyaar Hai, Hrithik Roshan and Ameesha Patel teamed up for this Vikram Bhatt film and the result was... well, poor. Not only the film bombed at the box-office but was mediocre cinema, at best.
Mujhse Dosti Karoge! (2002)
This Kunal Kohli film had a stellar cast of Hrithik Roshan, Rani Mukherjee and Kareena Kapoor and because of that the film was incredibly popular before the release. But the overly sentimental film didn't impress the audiences and critics.
Mein Prem Ki Diwani Hoon (2003)
This Sooraj Barjatya film wasn't a box-office failure but remains amongst Hrithik Roshan's poor movies. This over-the-top movie was also a love triangle and is highly cringe-worthy.
We hope Mohenjo Daro doesn't belong to the list.
