Karan K Cheema, who is a businessman from Aloka, Maharashtra apparently felt bad for the film maker who was facing heavy criticism for casting Pakistani actor Fawad Khan in his film! After MNS threatened to ban the film and Karan ran from pillar to post to make the release happen as scheduled, on October 28th, 2016. But that’s not the sole reason the guys wrote the cheque!
A letter explained his acting and he stated that he is not interested in watching the film and even passed off an outrageous assumption that nobody else is either! Well, if anything Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has given us many reasons to pay a visit to the theatres this Diwali! Fawad Khan’s role that remains all so mysterious is just a bonus!
The guy who apparently sent an the amount for two tickets for the movie wrote in the letter, “I would like to express my grief for you, seeing your video over social media regarding your losses because of casting Pakistani artistes in your forthcoming film ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’. The situation pervading in our country is so perplexed at this stage… Anyway none of us are interested in watching your movie ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ anymore… As a businessman I still feel sad for your losses so I am enclosing a cheque…of HDFC Bank amounting Rs. 320.00 (assuming 160 per ticket x 2 persons) which is generally charged by movie theatres in our city for your kind perusal.”
Although the letter has not been verified but has created quite a stir on Twitter.
While many stood up and applauded Karan’s decision to not work with Pakistani artists in the future and thought of it as a rational action, many others who support cross border exchanges are definitely shocked by it!
Controversies have only pricked audience’s curiosity to watch the film, and such insinuating acts, while very sad to hear about, are only publicizing Karan’s upcoming directorial venture!
