Box Office: A Flying Jatt Looks To Score, Happy Bhag Jayegi Survives
Updated : August 25, 2016 06:54 PM ISTCashing in on the big Janmashtmi holiday, while the Tiger Shroff starrer superhero outing A Flying Jatt was expected to take one of the better openings of the year, the film hasn’t shown any major signs of making the best of the long weekend. Going by the early trends, the film saw an average occupancy in the range of 25-35 percent and showed some growth towards the evening and night shows.
With a wide universal appeal and a superhero angle attached, the film with its promos has particularly enticed the kids who are expected to be the core section of audience for the movie. Going by how Tiger Shroff’s last release Baaghi emerged a surprised hit, A Flying Jatt should be making close to 35-40 crores in its extended weekend of four days. Also the Punjabi appeal of the film may make this Remo D’Souza directorial the top pick this week in North India.
On the other hand, last year’s release Happy Bhag Jayegi after having made 10 crores in its opening weekend, didn’t give up too easily. The film stayed low in the weekdays, but didn’t drop drastically at all. The film in fact showed growth through the week days and earned more on Tuesday than on Monday and more on Wednesday than on Tuesday. The Diana Penty starrer has now collected a total of 15.78 crores. If the film closes its lifetime tally around 20 crores, it should end up as a profitable venture.
#HappyBhagJayegi Fri 2.32 cr, Sat 3.81 cr, Sun 4.58 cr, Mon 1.62 cr, Tue 1.63 cr, Wed 1.82 cr. Total: ₹ 15.78 cr. India biz.
