Here's Proof That We Have Failed CID'S Aditya Srivastava A.K.A. Abhijeet
Updated : September 01, 2016 03:52 PM ISTRemember the days when CID was actually good? That sweet time time when we tuned in to Sony Channel and wanted to know what case ACP Pradyuman were solving next. How under his guidance a motley crew of detectives and along with a funny forensic expert helped them crack seemingly impossible cases.
But 20 years and some 1300 episodes later, the thing we associate the most with, well, this:
OR,
Well, you get the picture.
We wonder why the people are still making the show? Why do actors still give their all to poorly-written scripts and such half-hearted treatment of the show itself?
Well, we sat down and introspected and it turns out it's our fault.
Because one of the actors -- Aditya Srivastava a.k.a Abhijeet -- really tried to escape from the mess the once unanimously loved show has become.
What's worse that it's not like the talented actor has done some mediocre TV shows to get some attention but in fact, he has went out played some incredible roles in top-notch movies. And yet, what we associate him the most is Inspector Abhijeet from CID, a show that surprises everyone by still being on-air.
It's our fault and here are times we should have noticed the actor more:
The time he played the crucial role of an intense cop in Ram Gopal Varma's SATYA--one of the best Indian movies to ever get made.
His small but notable role in LAKSHYA had him level shoulders with Amitabh Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan.
Another time his notable performance got overlooked. This time in Urmila Matondkar-Saif Ali Khan starrer EK HASINA THI.
The time he showed-off his acting talent in one of the best films Anurag Kashyap has made, GULAAL.
Everybody identifies how BLACK FRIDAY brilliantly captured the mood of the 1993 Bombay Blasts. But few remember how incredible Aditya Srivastava was in the role of a conflicted terrorist Badshah Khan.
Well, shame on us!
