7 Things We Learnt From Main Hoon Na!
Updated : April 30, 2017 05:44 PM ISTMain Hoon Na released back on 30th April, 2004 and like any other SRK movie, it took the box office by storm. It was a thorough entertainer with a mix of drama, action, comedy and romance. Though we can't vouch for logic in the movie, we must admit that this one was a total 'paisa vasool' film!
Back in 2004, this movie taught the generation a lot of 'cool' stuff too! Let us have a look at things that this SRK movie taught us:
1. The signature Main Hoon Na pose:
A lot of 90s kid will remember seeing their friends rotate their hand around their head and say, "Don't worry, Main Hoon Na'. This SRK pose and the lines spread like a wildfire, and everyone around would break into the MHN mode once in a while! Though it got irritating or embarrassing even at times, you can't deny doing this at least once.
2. A crush on a teacher is totally ok!
How many of you crushed on your hot prof when you were in college? Well, Ram in this movie too falls for his chemistry teacher! This movie told us that crushing on your prof is totally ok.
3. Guitars, Violins, Saxophones- everything starts to play when you spot your crush!
Ok we have lost count of how many times Ram would break into a song when he saw Miss Chandni.
4. And you become utterly stupid in front of your crush!
C'mon, this was a Major General but on spotting Miss Chandni, he would go like:
Yeah, even you probably looked this stupid when you went gaga with happiness when your crush talked to you!
5. The film brought back crop top in fashion, for sometime though
Crop tops are super fashionable now. But the movie showed Sanjana in crop tops with dark Kohl laden eyes! Semi-goth much?
6. And Ethnic can help you get your crush's attention!
C'mon, you have to admit that Laxman was an a*shole and so was this part in the film. Even though Sanju gives a long lecture on how he just likes her clothes and not her heart, you can't deny that it did promote the fact that ethnics are better and more sanskaari that western. Well, we can forgive it on the ground that some Bolly filmns promote the same mentality even now (like YJHD)!
7. And not to forget, it had the most Indianised action sequence.
Well you have seen car chase sequences on action stunts on a bike. But MHN had the baap of all action sequences, on our very own rickshaw. SRK made the rickshaw look super cool and sleek!
