5 Things You Need To Know About Alia Bhatt & Varun Dhawan's Badrinath Ki Dulhania

We are finally in 2017 and there are several things that we are excited about. From a purely cinema lover's point of view, of course, there is a lot that we are expecting from this year. After a pretty average 2016, our hopes are pinned on this year for providing us a fair share of movies that we can love.

One of those can very well be Alia Bhatt & Varun Dhawan's Badrinath Ki Dulhania. 

Sequel to Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, the film is high on our wish-list for a variety of reasons. But, obviously, the main one being how much we came to like the original. And we wish that three years later this film can do at least that.

Here are the things that the viewers should know:

It's less of a sequel and more of an installment.

First things first, the film is not a direct sequel to the 2014 original. The film will more be like a second installment, with the actors playing altogether different characters in a story completely different from the previous one.

Badrinath Ki Dulhania is said to be a love story of Jhansi boy Badrinath, and a girl named Vaidehi. Also, unlike the first film, will have a darker shade of romance, with unexpected twists and turns.

Filmmakers

Like the original, the film will be directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced Karan Johar under the Dharma Productions banner.

The film has been shot in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Other than that, some portions of the film are also shot in Singapore.

Release Date

Badrinath Ki Dulhania is scheduled to be released on March 10, 2017.
