Meera Jasmine To Play A Cop In Her Next
Updated : April 06, 2016 11:03 AM IST After her wedding in 2014, Meera Jasmine has stayed away from the industry and hasn’t done substantial roles since a long time. The actress will be next seen playing a lead role in editor Don Max’s directorial debut. For the first time in her career, Meera will be portraying the role of a police officer in the film, which is tentatively titled 10 Kalpanakal.
Refusing that the Don Max’s film is her comeback movie, Meera Jasmine said, “A lot of people might consider this a comeback, but for me the last few months were just a sabbatical of sorts. I have been preparing for an international project that I am not at liberty to talk about right now. However, I was constantly in touch with the Malayalam film industry and have been listening to a lot of scripts. I wanted to do something nice and refreshing, and Don's movie had everything I was searching for”.
Talking about her role, she said, “I haven't played an investigative police officer in my career yet. Also my look will be different from the rustic avatar the audience is used to. I play a modern and stylish cop in the movie”. Meera added that now she has become particular about her roles and said, “Earlier, acting was a full- time job but now, I can take my time and do only those movies which appeal to me”. The Don Max’s directorial also stars Anoop Menon, Anumol and Murali Gopy in prominent roles.
