Dileep-starrer ‘Life of Josutty’ chronicles life of villager
Updated : April 06, 2016 10:59 AM IST Jeethu Joseph's Life of Josutty narrates the story of a simple farmer living in a village named Josutty. Interestingly, it revolves around Josutty's life from the age 8 to 38. Starring Dileep and Rachana Narayanankutty in the lead, the film chronicles 30 years in the life of a villager.
“There are no twists or suspense as you would have seen in my recent films such as Drishyam and Memories. This is a family entertainer. The story chronicles 30 years in the life of Josutty who hails from this remote village. His experiences, the uncertainties he faces at home and his moving to New Zealand after his marriage, are narrated in the film,” says Jeethu.

The portions in the scenic location of Kattappana have reportedly been completed. The crew is now expected to go to New Zealand in April to start its next schedule. “This is not a full-fledged laugh riot like ‘My Boss’ and it is not in the mould of some of the conventional comedies from Dileep. There is a bit of fantasy in the narrative, the details of which have been reserved for the screen. There are three heroines, who come in at various points in Josutty’s life. Rachana plays Jessy, while Jyothi Krishna dons the role of Rose. We are yet to decide on who will play the character named Priya,” adds the filmmaker.
Produced under the banner of Backwater Studio, in association with Eros International, the film is expected to hit the screens in June.
