TV’s Sati Sangeetha Will Play The Female Lead In 777 Charlie
Updated : July 17, 2018 12:23 PM IST And the hunt is finally done. The team of the upcoming movie titled 777 Charlie has found its leading lady. After searching over 2,700 profiles and around 200 auditions, the Sati of Kannada small screen (Hara Hara Mahadev), Sangeetha has been roped in roped in as the female lead of the film.
The movie is helmed by Kiranraj K in which Sangeetha will play an important character. “I give priority to newcomers in all my films and wanted to do the same with 777 Charlie. From over 2,700 profiles, we shortlisted five people and Sangeetha fit the bill perfectly,” says filmmaker Pushkara Mallikarjunaiah. Director Kiranraj K is careful to call Sangeetha the female lead and not the heroine, because this is not like a commercial film, as there is no love track.
The director further added, “Sangeetha’s character is very lively and is one that will be well liked by the audience. I didn’t want a very well-known face, because if you have a newcomer, people will see the character and not the actor behind it”.
On the other hand, Sangeetha feels that being picked for this movie is like winning the Miss India crown.
“I saw the call to audition and wanted to try out since the poster of the film itself is so exciting. I flew down from Hyderabad just for the audition and was shocked when I saw the number of people who had registered for it. Having been a model, it reminded me of the tough competition that I faced during Miss India and Miss Diva… only, there were more women here! I waited for 2-3 weeks to hear from Pushakara if I had made it or not, but he kept it a suspense till the end. He called me to the set of Avane Srimannarayana and that is where I signed the agreement,” says Sangeetha, who adds that she is a lot like her character in real life.
