Renowned filmmaker Siddalingaiah breathes his last
Updated : April 06, 2016 10:59 AM IST Ace director-producer Siddalingaiah was admitted to Suguna Hospital in Rajajinagar, a few days back. According to the doctors, the filmmaker was kept on ventilator as he was critical and suffering from H1N1 disease. Though, media is strictly barred, reports suggest that Siddalingaiah breathed his last on Thursday afternoon. He is survived by his wife and daughter-in-law and grandchildren.

Siddalingaiah started his career as a floor boy. Later, he went on to make some of the biggest blockbusters and landmark cinemas such as Bangaarada Manushya and Bhootayyana Maga Ayyu. He also directed super hit films like Balu Belagithu, Namma Samsara, Nyayave Devaru, Doorada Betta, Hemavathi, Boolokadalli Yamaraja, Narada Vijaya, Nari Swargakke Daari, Parajitha, Prema Parva, Ajeya among others. As most of his films were society oriented, the filmmaker was considered as the ‘Social director’ along with another renowned director Puttanna Kanagal. Siddalingaiah was also awarded the Puttanna Kanagal Award for his immense contribution to the Sandalwood industry.
