Nabha Natesh underwent severe training for Vajrakaya
Updated : April 06, 2016 10:59 AM IST Nabha Natesh underwent intensive training to prepare for her role in her upcoming movie Vajrakaya, to be helmed by Harsha. The actress, who is well versed in theatre and has spent time under the watchful eyes of Prakash Belawadi, had to work very ward in order to do justice to her character in the film. The role required Nabha to learn horse riding, shooting and smoke beedi’s.
“He had seen my photo in which I was wearing a lehanga. He explained the character graph of the role and said I would have to ride a horse and Bullet, fire a rifle and smoke beedi. I said I would learn. The difficulty started when training began. Only after I sat on a horse did I realise it was not easy. I was trained for over three months. In the film I had to smoke beedies and could not eat food for a few days," recalls Nabha. The director was all praise for the actress saying, “She picked up things very fast. The character is rustic and rugged. When you see her house riding you will be surprised. She rides one handed and even effortlessly on hilly paths”.
"Whatever training I had taken was nothing compared to what I learned on the sets during shooting.Even my theatre background had not prepared me for this.I was tensed and apprehensive. On stage there is quiet. Here you have to emote with a dozen distractions. I was also awed of Shiva Rajkumar.Even after a hundred films he puts an equal amount of dedication now. Seeing him act I realised all my practise was of no use. I learnt a lot from him”, Nabha added.
