Updated : April 30, 2014 03:06 AM ISTDisney-Marvel’s first release this fall, Thor: The Dark World, has been like a thunderstorm at this weekend’s box-office as it has grossed $180.1 million overseas including its estimated collection of $86.1 million from domestic theatres. Quite obviously it was the No. 1 at the U.S. box-office this weekend.
The momentum of last year’s The Avengers and this year’s Iron Man 3 has been carried forward by Thor quite successfully. As the total global count has been estimated as $327 million after its massive business last week, Thor: The Dark World, is on its track to surpass its predecessor which grossed nearly $450 million worldwide during summer 2011. Disney distribution topper Dave Hollis told, “The Marvel guys have done something even within the last three years unrivaled in the industry, achieving the consistency of great films, as well as box office success.”

The Book Thief is an adaptation of Markus Zusak’s 2007 bestseller based on Nazi Germany.
