Oscars 2019 - Predictions For The Nominees Of The Academy Awards This Year!
Updated : February 04, 2019 04:36 PM ISTThe 2019 Oscars has been mired in controversy first when the academy announced that they were considering a popular film category which did not go down well within the Hollywood community or the public, then when comedian Kevin Hart refused to host the show after his decade-old tweets resurfaced and stirred controversy which led this years ceremony to be held without a host the second time ever in the history of the award show.
Despite this, The Academy Awards are the most anticipated award show in the film world and with the world looking on, and since the nominations for this year coming out later today we decide to take a look at our predictions for the best picture, actor and actress' for the 91st Academy Awards.
Best Picture
Starting off our list we have 'A Star is Born' directed by Bradley Cooper and staring himself and Lady Gaga in the lead, the movie has both critics and fans raving and rightfully so with amazing performances and great direction this movie is a shoo-in for best picture category.
'Vice'directed by Adam Mckay and staring Christain Bale in the lead is a biographical comedy on the former Vice President of the United States Dick Chaney, with an amazing screenplay, a brilliant performance by Christain Bale and some really funny moments this movie deserves to be on the list.
'Bohemian Rapsody' the biopic of legendary rockstar Freddy Mercury and the band Queen, the movie has Rami Malek give one of his finest performances by completely transforming into the late singer. The movie is well paced with amazing and moving storytelling movements.
'Green Book' is based on the true story of the famous Jazz musician Don Shirley and his friendship with his driver Tony Vallelunga played masterfully by Mahershala Ali and Viggo Mortensen respectively, the film deals with the still relevant topic of racism and how it can be overcome, the surprising amount of humor in the film makes it refreshing not to mention the amazing chemistry between the leads.
BlacKkKlansman is a biographical movie directed by veteran director Spike Lee on the life of Ron Stallworth the first African- American detective in Colorado and how he took the KKK, this movie surprised viewers with its humor and more importantly this a powerful movie that can stay with you long after you watch it, and a strong performance from John David Washinton that knocks this movie out of the park.
