‘Mortal Engines’ Ropes In Hera Hilmar As Female Lead
Updated : February 08, 2017 01:57 PM IST Peter Jackson is developing a cinematic adaptation of Philip Reeve's 'Mortal Engines' and the director has found his female lead. According to reports, newcomer Hera Hilmar has been brought onboard for the role. Christian Rivers will be directing the project which will be written and produced by Jackson.
The book tells the story of the human race thousands of years in the future. The resources have become scarce and cities are fighting against each other for survival. The story focuses on Tom Natsworthy, whose life is changed after he meets a mysterious woman from the Outlands.
Along with Jackson, Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens will be co-writing the film. Amanda Walker, Zane Weiner and Deborah Forte will also be producing the project with Jackson. Hera is known for her roles in TV series like ‘Da Vinci's Demons’, ‘Leaving’ and the mini-series ‘Harley and the Davidsons’. She will soon be seen in her big screen project titled ‘The Ottoman Lieutenant’, along with a couple more projects lined up like ‘An Ordinary Man’ and ‘The Ashram’.
