Lynda Carter To James Cameron: Stop dissing WW
Updated : September 29, 2017 03:56 PM IST Actress Lynda Carter, who portrayed the character of the original 'Wonder Woman' as Diana Prince in the year 1975 TV series, has asked James Cameron to stop dissing about the film immediately. The actress is totally frustrated with Cameron’s negative comments on the Patty Jenkins directorial. The 2017 movie stars Gal Gadot as the Wonder Woman.
In an interview earlier, Cameron had said, “All of the self-congratulatory back-patting Hollywood’s been doing over Wonder Woman has been so misguided”. In addition to that, he further said that the character in Wonder Woman is an objectified icon, and it’s just male Hollywood doing the same old thing.
However, all these thuggish jabs of Cameron bittered Lynda Carter and in response to his comments she took to her social media account, where she wrote, “To James Cameron -STOP dissing WW:, You poor soul. Perhaps you do not understand the character. I most certainly do” Adding, “Like all women--we are more than the sum of our parts. Your thuggish jabs at a brilliant director, Patty Jenkins, are ill-advised. This movie was spot on. Gal Gadot was great. I know, Mr. Cameron--I have embodied this character for more than 40 years. So--STOP IT”. Meanwhile, the film has earned more than $820 million at the global box office.
