Julianne Moore Tapped To Star In Gloria Steinem Biopic
Updated : November 02, 2017 02:22 PM IST Actress Julianne Moore has been signed in to play feminist activist Gloria Steinem in her biopic titled 'My Life On The Road'. Gloria became a leading spokeswoman for the feminist movement from 1960 to 1970. According to reports, Julie Taymor will helm the project for June Pictures.
Playwright Sarah Ruhl will be writing the script based on Steinem’s bestselling memoir. Steinem will be the executive producer of the movie along with Amy Richards. June Pictures’ Andrew Duncan and Alex Saks will produce the film with Taymor and Lynn Hendee.
The movie will show Steinem’s growth from a reluctant spokesperson of a movement into a galvanizing symbol for equality. It will also focus on the encounters along the road that helped shaped her. No announcement regarding the film’s release or the other stars starring in the movie has been revealed.
Julianne will next be seen in the upcoming movie 'Wonderstruck' where she will play two characters, a silent movie star in 1927 and a deaf woman in 1977. Helmed by Todd Haynes, the film will release this month.
