Joe Alwyn Joins The Cast Of 'Boy Erased'
Updated : September 10, 2017 01:33 PM IST Filmmaker Joel Edgerton is coming up with his next flick which is touted to be a gay conversion therapy film. The film ‘Boy Erased’ is based on Garrard Conley's memoir titled Boy Erased: A Memoir. The flick will star Lucas Hedges as Conley. Russell Crowe and Nicole Kidman will portray Conley's religious parents.
The latest in the front is that actor Joe Alwyn has been taken on board for the flick. This is Joel’s second flick after ‘The Gift’. The filmmaker received a nomination for the Directors Guild of America Award for Outstanding Directing – First-Time Feature Film for The Gift, a psychological horror-thriller.
The flick will follow Jared who has to decide between entering a gay conversion therapy program and being shunned by his community after being ousted to his parents at 19. The cast of the flick includes Lucas Hedges and Academy Award winners Nicole Kidman and Russell Crowe. Cherry Jones and Red Hot Chili Peppers' bassist Flea have also been roped in for the movie.
