Updated : January 23, 2018 11:58 AM IST Edward James Olmos has been tapped to star and direct the flick ‘The Devil Has a Name’. He will star alongside David Strathairn in this environmental, dark comedy. Both Edward and David have been nominated for Oscars. While Edward was nominated for ‘Stand and Deliver’, David was nominated for ‘Good Night and Good Luck’.
The movie will revolve around an unhinged oil baron who gets into a heated argument with a stubborn farmer after his company poisons water on his farm. The portrayal of a corporate greed is based on a true story. While Olmos will play Santiago, a Mexican immigrant and confidant, Strathairn will essay the role of an oil empire-fighting farmer.
Rob McEveety has penned the script for the flick. True Navigator Media’s Steve McEveety, Patrick Hibler, and McEveety will produce the film. David is best known for working in films like ‘Sneakers’, ‘The Bourne Legacy’ and ‘Eight Men Out’. Edward James Olmos is known for starring in ‘Blade Runner’ and the cult TV series ‘Battlestar Galactica’.
