Daniel Radcliffe roped in as Sacha Baron Cohen’s replacement in Freddie Mercury’s biopic?
Updated : April 30, 2014 06:06 AM ISTA new journey is about to begin for Daniel “Harry Potter” Radcliffe very soon, it seems. The latest buzz says that Daniel has been signed up to replace Sacha Baron Cohen in the forthcoming biopic of Freddie Mercury, the renowned musician and the lead vocalist-lyricist of the rock band Queen.
Cohen, the star of The Dictator, was initially finalised to play the character of Mercury, who made an exit from the rock band over creative discrepancies with his band mates, Brian May and Roger Taylor. According to a source, "Daniel has be told the part is his if he wants it. Despite his youth, Daniel has impressed movie bosses with his portrayal of gay poet Allen Ginsburg in this year`s movie `Kill Your Darlings`.” The source added, "Plus, he`s closer in height to Freddie than Sacha, who`s much taller. Daniel can really sing, too." The 24-year-old actor is said to be offered a lot of money by the producers of the film and it would be the biggest pay package for the actor post his success with the Harry Potter franchise.
