What’s Happening With Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Gustakhiyan’?

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ambitious project ‘Gustakhiyan’ will showcase the life of the late Urdu poet-lyricist Sahir Ludhianvi. The project was announced in 2015 but what we hear the latest about the movie is quite surprising. According to recent reports, SLB may shelve the venture, due to time constraints from the flick’s lead pair Priyanka Chopra and Irrfan Khan.

It’s a known fact that Irrfan Khan is currently filming Kelly Macdonald and David Denman-starrer ‘Puzzle’. The Big Beach project, which is based on a suburban mother whose world is consumed with caring for the men in her family, is being helmed by Marc Turtletaub. The Hindi Medium actor has already informed Bhansali that it would take him long to commit. Recently, reports of him walking out of the project also went rife.

In addition, Priyanka Chopra is busy shooting for the third season and finale of ‘Quantico’ and Sila Howard’s upcoming drama, ‘A Kid Like Jake’. Apparently, none of the actors look free to give time to ‘Gustakhiyan’. According to reports, Bhansali’s team has asked him to shelve the project but the story is so close to the filmmaker that he’s willing to wait a bit longer.
