Taapsee shares casino experience in ‘Vai Raja Vai’
Updated : April 06, 2016 10:59 AM IST Taapsee’s cameo as a Casino girl in her upcoming movie ‘Vai Raja Vai’ is a new experience for her. The actress says that shooting on a cruise was a very interesting experience. She shares to TOI that "I've never stepped into a casino. And in the movie, my character is supposed to be a pro at the game. So, that was kind of funny," she reveals and continues, "I did not have time to go to a real casino and observe things and prepare for the role. The rules of the game were taught to me by Aishwarya on the set, so the director was the teacher for me here".
The beautiful actress, who is making a comeback in Kollywood with Aishwarya Dhanush directorial, says that she wouldn't consider Vai Raja Vai as her movie. She later added, "I'm not the heroine or anything like that. I'm just a very small part of it. I agreed to do it because it was a special appearance." She says that the uniqueness of the character was what attracted her to this role. "As heroines, we don't really get such characters ever. A special appearance is how I will get to do something as unique as this. The character of Shreya is not someone who supports the hero or the villain. She is just assigned a job and she comes and does that. And people cannot miss it because the character comes at a crucial point in the story and goes on till the climax. The climax cannot happen if there had not been this character. So, in that sense, the role is pivotal".
Taapsee’s choice is not biased towards directors in terms of male and female. "People feel much more comfortable if you consider women equal. Aishwarya was like any other director for me. I think that's the best compliment I can give her because it puts her at par with the directors I've worked with and doesn't slot her just as a female director," she adds, "Also, I was playing a small role, and shot for, like, a week, so from my experience, I didn't see any difference".
