The makers of Shuddhi that initially had Hrithik Roshan in the lead were left stranded when the actor opted out of the film. Filling in his place when Salman Khan came onboard, fans had much to rejoice. However, director Karan Malhotra got busy with his earlier commitment of Akshay Kumar-Sidharth Malhotra starrer Brothers and kept Shuddhi on hold. Salman on the other hand was also simultaneously shooting for Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and didn’t have the required dates.
Talking about the film finally going under production, Karan said, “‘Shuddhi’ should definitely go on-floors very soon. The pre-production on that film is a tumultuous task because it is a very widespread film with a large scale and so it takes time. And Karan Malhotra, the director of the film is releasing ‘Brothers’ in August, so he will start ‘Shuddhi’ right after that”. The filmmaker also told that the Ram Lakhan would get under production by early next year, after Rohit Shetty wraps up his film ‘Dilwale’.
