Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Ram-Leela cleared with UA certificate
Updated : May 01, 2014 03:11 PM ISTAfter Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Ram-Leela got a clearance by the Censor Board of Film Certification on Friday without any verbal or visual edits, now it has passed the Board’s exam with a clean UA certificate for its November 15 release.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s previous films like Khamoshi, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Devdas and Saawariya, except Guzaarish, also passed with UA certificates. According to a source, "Sanjay was expecting a 'UA' for 'Ram-Leela'. The basic storyline is violent with a lot of gun firings. Having said that the Censor Board has been extremely liberal with the aggressive language and the violence. They understood the context and completely empathized with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's need to turn aggressive in 'Ram-Leela'." As Bhansali was focusing more on the censoring task on late Friday he had to skip a promotional event with Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone at Mehboob studios. An insider from Ram-Leela unit said, "There was no big mysterious fight or tension. Sanjay was looking into the censoring of 'Ram-Leela'. That's why he cancelled the event at Mehboob.”
