“I am still wondering how I got this project. I was in the middle of my sister’s wedding, and my agents in the US sent me a few scripts. When I read the script of the first episode, I loved it. Given the schedule at that time [because of the wedding], I was all over the place, and I barely managed to speak to the writer of the show. But within a few days, I was offered the role,” says Nimrat, adding that post the confirmation, conversations regarding the dates began. “I had to leave for Vancouver (Canada) almost immediately. I will stay there for a few months. I genuinely had no time to sit back and think about it,” says Nimrat, who flew out on Monday (February 29).
The actor reveals that her role in this show is vastly different from what she has previously done. “Everything is an experience. This is going to require a lot more work than the other show. I had a lot of free time during that one. This is a lead part, so the requirements are different. I have never attempted this genre before, but I feel you should always keep expanding your audience. This is the way forward,” she says. Recently, Nimrat sprained her ankle and even had to go in for some physiotherapy before leaving for Vancouver. “I had a very bad sprain. Thankfully, I had a little time to recuperate before I left for the shoot. It is still a little sensitive, but I’m happy that it is in better shape now,” she adds.
