I Believe After Srideviji, I’m The Only Actress Who’s Doing Comedy: Kangana Ranaut

Undeniably, the fans base gained by Kangana Ranaut is the result of her extraordinary acting prowess. The versatile actress has done justice to several roles in a career spanning 12 years. Known for having the rare combination of boldness and maturity in attitude, Kangana says that she feels she is the only actress after Sridevi to be doing comedy.

The Rangoon actress will next be seen in Hansal Mehta’s ‘Simran’, which will show Kangana goofing around and enjoying her life. “Simran is a comedy, not a biopic”, the Queen actress stated, adding “I believe after Srideviji, I’m the only actress who’s doing comedy… be it as Datto or even Tanu in Tanu Weds Manu Returns. Unfortunately, we don’t have a lot of scope for female comedians. Raju sir (Raj Kumar Hirani) recently mentioned that he wants to make a film on a stand-up comedian”.

Well, we leave it on the audience to approve or disapprove Kangana’s statement. On a related note, ‘Simran’ is slated to release on September 15. The movie had made headlines when Kangana was said to be sharing writing credits with writer Apurva Asrani, who was reluctant to share the credits.
