Hina Khan Reveals Why She Quit Her Popular TV Show, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai!
Updated : May 16, 2017 05:52 PM ISTActor Hina Khan, known for playing the quintessential bahu in the serial Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai for eight years, is set to break away from the image. She will now be seen in stunt-based reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi. Earlier, there were reports that Hina was in talks with a production house to be a part of a horror comedy show, but she chose the reality show instead. Ask her about these reports, and she rubbishes them as rumours. “Where are you getting this news from? I wasn’t in talks with any show. I had a few offers and I volunteered to opt for the reality show. I did not choose this over anything,” says Hina.
Having played only one role in her entire career, Hina says she desperately needed a change. “I was part of the show for eight long years. It became monotonous and therefore I had to move out. My character had done all that she could and there wasn’t anything new left to do,” adds Hina.
The 29 -year-old received a lot of appreciation and love for the character she played fall these years, and it made her a household name too. Describing her journey, Hina maintains, “I’m pretty much satisfied and happy with what I’ve done in these years. I got awarded so many times and received love and fame from my fans. I feel privileged to be a part of the longest running TV show. It’s nice and a great feeling, however, the continuity did not give me enough time to react. We had such a busy schedule that I did not even have a second to digest the appreciation that was coming my way. Now that I am out of the show, I see in retrospect all the appreciation I received and feel good.”
After her reality show, Hina says she would love to come back to television and is open to all kinds of roles, especially comedy. “I just want a show that has good content and I am open to anything on TV. I believe that if you want to exist on TV, you should be open to doing anything and everything. You can’t be too choosy except in the case of period drama,” says Hina.
