Deepika Padukone emerges 3rd-time lucky with Ram-Leela’s success

She started the year with Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani followed by Chennai Express and ending it by Ram-Leela. All the three films show the diversity of the actress, Deepika Padukone. After playing a studious Naina Talwar in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, she grabbed eyeballs as South Indian Meenamma in Chennai Express and now her Gujarati avatar in her latest film proves her versatility at the best. Shri Rang Films’ Sarang Chandak termed Deepika’s performance in Ram-Leela as“outstanding".Chandak said,"I believe the film will have a very impressive run at the ticket windows. Deepika not only looks stunning in the film, she has also delivered an outstanding performance.”
Rajesh Thadani from Multimedia Combines shares his view that Deepika is the person behind Ram-Leela’s success, adding that she has turned out to be a "sure-shot success at the box office this year". Debashish Dey of Aum Moviez, West Bengal said, "Thanks to Deepika and her success with her previous releases, the response to afternoon shows improved. Expectations are at an all-time high." Deepika, daughter of veteran badminton player Prakash Padukone, debuted in Bollywood with Om Shanti Om opposite Shah Rukh Khan and went on with her filmy career with Bachna Ae Haseeno, Chandni Chowk To China, Love Aaj Kal, Housefull, Break Ke Baad, Aarakshan, Desi Boyz and Cocktail. Her upcoming projects include Finding Fanny and Happy New Year.
