Babita Phogat To Debut In TV With Badho Bahu
Updated : November 15, 2017 01:46 PM IST After making India proud by winning gold medals at Commonwealth Wrestling Championship, Phogat sisters, Geeta Phogat and Babita Phogat , made their appearance on television. They both appeared together in the comedy shows The Drama Company and The Kapil Sharma Show . Thereafter, we saw the elder sister Geeta Phogat performing stunts on Khatron Ke Khiladi 8.
And now it is younger sister, Babita’s, turn to foray into TV. Yes, the three times Commonwealth Games Champion will make her television debut with the social drama, Badho Bahu that airs on &TV. She will play the role of wrestling champion in the show.
Since the show is set in Haryana, therefore Babita felt comfortable and is also fluent with the dialect which is spoken in the show. In an interview with Bombay Times, Babita said, “I am excited about appearing on ‘Badho Bahu’. I liked the concept of a father-in-law encouraging his bahu’s talent — it’s progressive. Personally, I wouldn’t want to give up on wrestling; I strongly believe that a girl shouldn’t feel any less than a man and should strive to create a mark for herself.” Badho Bahu already stars Rytasha Rathore, Prince Narula and Pankaj Dheer in main roles and is more loved in rural areas. The forthcoming episodes of the show will feature a wrestling match between Babita and Komal/Badho, which is played by Rytasha Rathore.
Though the makers wanted both Babita and Geeta to be a part of the show, however Geeta could not do it because of her other commitments.
