Ankita Shorey Was Replaced By Mahira Khan In ‘Raees’

Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film ‘Raees’ has faced lot of obstructions lately for having Pakistani actress Mahira Khan. Post Uri attacks, MNS workers were demanding to ban films featuring Pakistani artistes but things have calmed down a bit now. However, the film would have faced no challenges, had the makers decided to go for their initial choice for Mahira’s role.

According to reports, former Femina Miss India Ankita Shorey was the original choice to play Mohsina in the Rahul Dholakia directorial. However, she was replaced by the Bol actress as the role demanded a Pakistani actress at that time. Ankita confirmed the news and said, "The initial talk happened and I was called in for a look test. I feel very fortunate that at some point in time I was at least being strongly considered for such a beautiful film and role”.

Ankita, who has signed 3 movies with T-Series, added that she totally respects the decision of the makers. She also said that the film is beautiful and deserves a worldwide reach. After being postponed once, ‘Raees’ will hit the screens on January 26, 2017.
