Always had Madhuri Dixit in mind for Dedh Ishqiya, says Abhishek Chaubey

Dedh Ishqiya is a black-comedy-thriller flick, directed by Abhishek Chaubey. The film will be a sequel of Ishqiya and the maker of the film feels that Madhuri’s role in the sequel is meant for her only. The director said, “It was a role written exclusively for Madhuri. She plays the Begum. Vidya's character had nothing left in it to take the story forward. So there was no way that I could've included her in Dedh Ishqiya.”

Abhishek has also revealed that for Begum’s character in Dedh Ishqiya, Madhuri was the only choice as the role was written keeping her in mind. He also informed that the producer of the film Vishal Bhardwaj was in contact with the diva for the role even before she had shifted back to India. The sequel will feature Madhuri Dixit, Naseeruddin Shah, Arshad Warsi and Huma Qureshi in the lead roles.
