Aditya Roy Kapoor roped in as Sushant Singh Rajput’s replacement in Fitoor?
Updated : May 01, 2014 06:05 AM ISTAfter the confirmation came from Sushant Singh Rajput’s end that he will no more star in Abhishek Kapoor’s Fitoor opposite Katrina Kaif due to date problems, the ball has eventually gone to the court of Aditya Roy Kapoor who has been waiting for the opportunity since quite a long time now.
UTV is supposed to make an official announcement on the same next week. The developments have been kept under the wraps presently as an approval for Aditya is awaited from Katrina too which seems not to be a huge problem as Aditya has the super hit Aashiqui 2 in his pocket. An insider smelled foul in the exit game of Sushant from the UTV project, Fitoor, “It is almost as if they didn’t want him to do the film so they kept postponing it till his dates clashed with another film and he was left with no option but to back off.”
A source close to the unit of Fitoor said on a defensive note, “That Aditya is the younger brother of CEO of UTV Motion Pictures, Siddharth Roy Kapoor, could simply be a coincidence. Fact remains that Aditya is hugely popular and he gets films on his own merit. Siddharth is not the kind of a guy to use his position and power to push his family. If that were the case, he would have done it before when Aditya was sitting as home for four years. And not now when he is a star in his own right. this could just be a business decision. There is no conspiracy theory.” Meanwhile Sushant will start filming two highly speculated films in the coming days, Shekhar Kapur’s Paani and Yashraj Film’s Byomkesh.
