With the Prabhas starrer Kalki 2898 AD surpassing the magical figure of Rs. 500 crores at the box office, all the eyes are trained on whether it will beat the lifetime collection of Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan!

It was on 7 September 2023, when the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan had got released in theatres. The film went on to create an unprecedented box office history. Just as when everyone was thinking that the lifetime collection of the film will remain untouched for the longest time, there came the Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan starrer Kalki 2898 AD, which is now seemingly all set to break the lifetime collection of Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan!
After being released in theatres all over on 27 June 2024, the film went on to create a volcanic tornado at the box office. The film is now nearing a whopping Rs 560 crore in just mere 21 days at the domestic box office! The film, which is now all set to enter its fourth (grand) weekend, has now minted Rs 6.66 crore yesterday (in its third Wednesday).
For the unversed, the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jawan, after having a dream run at the box office, landed up settling its lifetime collection at Rs 640.25 crore in India. And, the Prabhas starrer Kalki 2898 AD has been expected to not just touch the said figure, but also surpass the same by the time its fourth weekend ends.
Those in the know will agree that the film Kalki 2898 AD and stars Prabhas, along with Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani has been doing exceptionally well at both, the domestic as well as the international market. The best part about the film is that it is doing tremendously well in both, Telugu as well as the Hindi versions. Speaking about the Telugu and the Hindi versions of Kalki 2898 AD, while the former has managed to collect Rs 279.66 crore, the latter has now collected Rs 264.3 crore!
Trade pundits predict that the road ahead will continue to be smooth for Kalki 2898, unless the Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, Ammy Virk starrer Bad Newz turns out to be ‘best news’ for its makers and also at the box office windows. As for Bad Newz, this Anand Tiwari directorial is all set to release this week July 19.
