VV 21: THIS Malayalam actress to play the lead in Vishnu Vishal and Ramkumar’s film?

As announced earlier, Vishnu Vishal will be collaborating with director Ramkumar for the third time. The actor had previously revealed his reunion with the director on his social media posts. Now, the makers have reportedly begun shooting for the film and are set to resume their next schedule of filming in Kodaikanal. As they are set to resume shooting for their third collaboration, sources have revealed the details of the female lead. 

Mamitha Baiju in VV 21?

Although the makers have yet to confirm the cast and crew of the project, sources reveal that Malayalam actress Mamitha Baiju of Premalu fame will be sharing screen space with Vishnu Vishal in this movie. If the rumors are true, the upcoming romantic fantasy film will mark the actress’ second Kollywood project after her 2024 film Rebel.

Billed as Vishnu Vishal’s 21st film in his acting career, the upcoming movie is set to be a romantic drama with fantasy and emotional elements. The movie is set against the backdrop of a hill station. Tentatively titled VV21, the film marks the actor’s third collaboration with director Ramkumar after their previous films Mundasupatti and Ratsasan. Bankrolled by Sathya Jyothi Films, the makers have yet to disclose other details of the project.  

Ramkumar’s shelved projects with Dhanush and Sivakarthikeyan

For the unversed, director Ramkumar had signed up to direct a new film with actor Dhanush, which was supposed to be produced by Sathya Jyoti Films. However, since the director took time to complete the story of the film, Dhanush backed out of the project due to his other commitments. Later, Ramkumar tried to bring Sivakarthikeyan on board, but the potential new collaboration did not take place.

Vishnu Vishal’s lineup

Meanwhile, Vishnu Vishal, who was last seen in Lal Salaam, will next be seen in the film Mohandas, directed by Kalavu-fame Murali Karthick, and another film titled Aaryan, which will be directed by debutant Praveen K. The actor has also signed three projects with directors Gokul, Arunraj Kamaraj and Chella Ayyavu, all of which are bankrolled by the actor’s home banner Vishnu Vishal Studioz.
