After helming the Tamil legal series Label, director-lyricist Arunraja Kamaraj is ready for his next project. Actor Vishnu Vishal took to his social media handles to announce his collaboration with the director, sharing the exciting news. Welcoming the director on board for his next project, which is produced under Vishnu Vishal’s home banner, Vishnu Vishal Studioz, the actor wrote, “Happy Birthday to one of my favourite directors… Can't wait to start our movie and welcome aboard.”

The actor also shared a picture of the actor-director duo, with Vishnu Vishal sporting a clean-shaven look. While the makers have yet to share other details regarding the project, the actor’s new look hints that the shooting of the movie is set to commence soon.

All about Arunraja Kamaraj

Director and lyricist Arunraja Kamaraj is well-known in Tamil cinema for penning lyrics for popular songs such as Kaavala from Rajinikanth's Jailer and Kutty Story from Vijay's Master. Arunraja made his directorial debut with the sports drama Kanaa, which had Sivakarthikeyan and Aishwarya Rajesh in lead roles.

He later directed Nenjuku Needhi, the official Tamil remake of the Hindi film Article 15. The director made his OTT debut with the legal drama web series Label on Disney+ Hotstar. The series has Jai in the lead role and revolves around the protagonist's struggle to overcome the identity set by society.

Now, with the new project, the director is all set for his maiden collaboration with Vishnu Vishal.

Vishnu Vishal’s latest disastrous outing

Vishnu Vishal had a disappointing start to the year with the failure of his film, Lal Salaam. The movie, directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth, had a cameo appearance by Rajinikanth. However, the film failed to bring audiences to theatres, leading to it tanking at the box office. The film has still not managed to sell its digital rights to any OTT platform. So, the actor has pinned all his hopes on his new project with Arunraj.
